Why these words (search research)

Listing text (title, highlights, bullets, backend terms)

New rule: since 27 July 2026 Amazon titles must be 75 characters or fewer (Amazon staff, confirmed by many 2026 guides), with a new searchable Item Highlights line of up to 125 characters. Titles longer than 75 get rewritten by Amazon’s AI after a 14-day review window for brand owners. Teikametrics reports brands that let the AI rewrite lost first-page rank.

What the top organic frankincense listings do

  • 11 of 14 titles are already 77 characters or fewer; the long ones (US Organic, Zongle, Garden of Life) look to be waiting on the AI rewrite.
  • “Organic” is in 12 of 14, “USDA” in 5, size in most, “for Diffuser” in 5. “Therapeutic” is in none of the top 14.
  • Closest comparable: noah spice, same product and size, launched 22 Apr 2026, 56-character brandless title, Item Highlight “GC/MS Tested, Steam Distilled, Boswellia Serrata, 100% Pure & Undiluted”, plain lowercase bullet tags. 11 reviews and Essential Oil Singles rank about 1,200 after five months, so brand and reviews matter more than title wording alone.
  • Leaders: Majestic Pure #1 and Cliganic #2 in Essential Oil Singles, Nexon #10 (all well over 16,000 reviews).

Decisions made

  1. Aromatherapy only. Everything stays aromatherapy-only: no skin, face, pain or wellness wording anywhere.
  2. Species: Boswellia serrata. Used in Item Highlights, bullet 2, backend terms and the A+ copy. It is your belief, not yet backed by a certificate of analysis: the supplier’s COA has to say Boswellia serrata before this goes live.
  3. Certifier and year: OneCert, 2026. Bullet 1, the Q&A and the label images now read “Certified by OneCert, 2026”. Amazon will ask for the certificate: it must name OneCert, show the organic scope for this product, and match the seller’s legal entity name.
  4. Title: brand-first (Title A). Reasoning: every character of a 75-character title now shows on a phone, so word order no longer decides what a shopper sees; Amazon’s own title guidance starts with the brand; 9 of the top 14 listings do; and brand-first is the only form that captures searches for “True Organic Oils” as the brand grows. The exact phrases people type (“organic frankincense essential oil”, “for diffuser”) sit in the title; “Boswellia serrata” and “USDA Certified Organic” ride in Item Highlights. Test A against B later in Manage Your Experiments; product-first (C) is the fallback if the brand-first title underperforms.

Left out on purpose

pain relief, skin, face, anti-aging, anxiety, sleep, immune; “therapeutic grade” (no regulatory meaning); “food grade”, “edible” (turns it into a supplement); “100% pure / undiluted / single ingredient” until the label and COA confirm it; “Made in USA” (the FTC warned Amazon about third-party sellers using it; we say “Bottled in the USA”).

Before launch

  • Essential oils are on Amazon’s dangerous-goods list: expect a safety data sheet request after listing, and the SDS title must match the catalog title.
  • Seed the Q&A (Rufus reads product details, reviews and Q&A). The five answers in Module 5 are ready to paste.
  • Turn on Brand Analytics (Search Query Performance) and use Manage Your Experiments to test titles A vs B.
  • Not verified: whether Item Highlights outrank backend terms, whether A+ or image text is indexed, how many characters of the first bullets show on a phone. Treat A+ as conversion content, not a ranking lever.

Fallback main image, bottle only
Fallback main image (bottle only). Chosen main image is #1, with a few resin tears at the foot, as Plant Therapy and Pure Body Naturals garnish theirs. Amazon’s written rule allows only the product and what ships with it, so if the listing is ever flagged for the garnish, switch to this one.

Main image checks (measured): border pixels RGB 255,255,255; bottle fills 96% of frame height (rule: 85%+); no text, logo or badge in the frame; 1254 × 1254 px (Amazon minimum for zoom is 1000; 2000 is recommended, but the image tool tops out at 1254 for square).

Slot 7 is the 12-second film (Module 3 file). Amazon’s rule sources: several 2026 seller guides; Amazon’s own help pages need a login and were not read.

Export step: main images get a whole-frame white-point lift (252 to 255) so the studio white reads exactly 255. No spot edits.

    How this page was designed

    • Built from a 134-listing census. Of 128 listings with A+ modules, Full Image appeared on 81 and was the first module on 79 of them; Comparison Table on 54, always last or near it; Navigation Carousel on 38 (never first), and on 11 of the 22 listings ranked in the top 20 of Essential Oil Singles versus 8 of 49 others; Full Video on 20; Q&A on 13. The best sequences run Full Image → Navigation Carousel → Full Image → Comparison Table. Edens Garden (video + six Full Images + table) and Cliganic (hero + Navigation Carousel + table) are the closest benchmarks.
    • Six modules, no Brand Story here. Premium allows seven modules. Brand Story (“From the brand”) sits outside the seven and has to be published to unlock Premium. 72 of 86 Premium listings in the census had one. It is not designed yet.
    • Type is lettered into the pictures for Full Image and carousel panels (267 of 300 Full Images carry no native text), in Playfair Display and Inter, on unmodified generated photographs. Tab labels, Q&A and the comparison table are native Amazon text.
    • Phone gets its own pictures (600 × 450 per panel), not a crop of the wide one.
    • Still unknown / unverified: which Premium modules your account has unlocked (no Seller Central access from this machine); certifier name and certification year (Amazon wants both beside a certification claim); USDA seal authorization; the real Frankincense label art (the label is a generated placeholder following the supplied packaging system); a single-ingredient statement; ASINs. Comparison Table 1 needs 4–7 live oils. No people appear, so AI-people disclosure should not apply. A background book on one frame has an incidental generated title.
    • Not published to Seller Central. Final fonts, wrapping and crops belong to Amazon.
